IN BRIEF: Amey and Barclays European Infrastructure


Contractor Amey and Barclays European Infrastructure have won an £85M private finance initiative contract for public lighting from Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council. Under the 25 year deal Amey will be responsible for maintenance and replacement of more than 26,000 street lights. The firm has been shortlisted for a further £500M of streetlighting contracts in the London Borough of Islington, Manchester, Stoke and Wakefield.
