in brief A new monument to Isambard Kingdom Brunel

A new monument to Isambard Kingdom Brunel will be unveiled by the Prince of Wales tomorrow at the Pembrokeshire port of Neyland. The 2.7m tall statue will depict Brunel holding models of two of his great achievements - a locomotive from the Great Western Railway, and the SS Great Eastern. The work was commissioned by the Brunel Society and is by Welsh sculptor Robert Thomas, who died in May.
