Improvement of payment practice to be examined

The improvement of payment practice in the construction industry is to be examined in a new consultation process launched this week by the Department of Trade & Industry and the Welsh Assembly. It will look at amendments to Part II of the Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 and the Scheme for Construction Contracts Regulations 1998. Better adjudication, easier agreements on payment amounts and handling cash flow in disputes and defaulted payments will be covered.
