Benevolent Fund launches film

Screen shot 2017 06 23 at 17.04.26 copy

The ICE Benevolent Fund has produced a new awareness-raising film telling the story of how it once came to the aid of the man who is now its chairman.

In the three minute film Benevolent Fund chairman and ICE member Jon Sturgess describes how he approached the Fund six years ago when he lost his  job as he undertook costly house improvements.

The Benevolent Fund provided short-term financial support and helped him return to work as a civil engineer.

Sturgess later joined the Benevolent Fund as a trustee and this year became chairman.

“The point of the film is to show, through my own story, how the Ben Fund can help engineers facing some kind of crisis,” said Sturgess.

“It was a very difficult and challenging time for me. Financial problems are only one of many ways the Ben Fund helps engineers – it can also help with housing, employment, financial education, counselling, health and mental well-being. If you need them, get in touch.”
