ICE remembers great engineer

ICE president Jean Venables and director general Tom Foulkes lay a wreath at Westminster Abbey to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Robert Stephenson’s death.

Stephenson, a past president of the ICE, is considered one of the greatest of 19th century civil engineers. Earlier in the day another wreath was laid at the Stephenson Monument in Newcastle.
