ICE papers available on internet

EVERY PEER-REVIEWED technical paper published by the Institution of Civil Engineers since 1836 is available on the internet for immediate download.

The database contains more than 20,000 illustrated papers, including reports, drawings and photographs, by almost every leading British or Britishtrained civil engineer who ever lived, making it the profession's most comprehensive online archive in the world.

More than 200,000 pages, including thousands of fold-out drawings, were scanned at high-resolution for the fully-searchable archive, the culmination of a two-year project partially funded by a bequest to the ICE library from the late Gerald Marshall, a lifelong ICE member.

Papers from the past three years are only accessible online to current journal subscribers, but will be added to the archive on an annual basis.

n Papers cost £5 each for ICE members and £15 for non-members. Once paid for, users have up to 28 days to download each paper.
