Two leading civil engineers were honoured at the ICE annual dinner ceremony in April, with presentations made for the Institution Gold Medal for civil engineering excellence and the ICE Civil Engineering Manager of the Year Award (CEMYA) for excellence in civil engineering management. Professor John Uff (above left) received the Gold Medal from ICE president professor Adrian Long in recognition of his leading role in the field of construction law, contracts and arbitration procedures. Andrew McNaughton (below right), technical services director for Balfour Beatty Major Projects, collected the CEMYA medal for his work as project director on the UK Channel Tunnel Rail Link's Contract 440.
