ICE news

lCE civil engineering managers of the year, 2003, Liz Bell of contractor Alfred McAlpine and Philip Stride of Thames Water, picked up their awards at the ICE annual dinner held in London last month.

Network Rail chief executive John Armitt and Cambridge University professor of geotechnical engineering Robert Mair both also received the ICE gold medals for civil engineering excellence. Over 500 guests attended the event which raised £3,700 for the charity Engineers Against Poverty.
