ICE News: Bridging technical and political decisions

Sydney Lenssen, founder editor of New Civil Engineer and former editor of Construction News, recalls the box girder bridge collapses in 1970 in his presidential address to the Conseil National des Ingenieurs et des Scientifiques de France at the ICE on Wednesday. He sees parallels between these failures and Railtrack's difficulty in finding technical answers which the public and politicians can trust. The CNISF AGM will start at 6pm and all are welcome.
