Hyder ACLA secures Beijing's latest Green Resort design brief

Hyder ACLA - the landscape and planning subsidiary of Hyder Consulting has been appointed by Zhong Hong Group to design the Hong Luo Lake Resort, a 54 hectare holiday resort and conference development located in Huairou, northwest of Beijing.

The development - which will be home to 3,000 residents - is situated in the foothills of Hong Luo Mountain, 50 kilometres from Beijing.

Hyder ACLA’s design brief is to protect the ecosystems close to the resort, while taking advantage of the topography and views available from the new site.

Respecting the natural terrain of the new resort, the consultancy is proposing that the detached homes, townhouses and service apartments are low rise - and set along the contours of Hong Luo Mountain.

Integrating the development of the site with the surrounding natural setting is key - as is using a wide range of sustainable approaches in the design and construction of the resort.

The proposed overall development will comprise 300,000 m2 for residential use, a 50,000 m2 hotel and 30,000 m2 convention centre.

Recreational facilities will include an indoor spa, massage and sports facilities including a gymnasium - as well as vast open space.
