How it was done

ICE news

Researcher Metra Martech conducted an online survey of 30,000 ICE members and received 2,781 responses - a 9.3% response rate.

The 2004 survey compares figures with the 1999 survey as opposed to the 2002 survey because the 1999 survey was found to have a 'more robust' structure than the 2002 survey.

The latest salary survey is hailed as the most robust ever undertaken for the ICE because for the first time the responses have been 'weighted' to match the pattern of membership.
