Hosts take all on ICE Midlands links

ICE news

ICE East Midlands hosted and unashamedly walked away with the Thomas Telford golf trophy last month.

Fifteen ICE regions took part in the 20th competition, held at Woodhall Spa Golf Club.

'Some thought that it was rather unsporting for the organisers to win the trophy but all were happy to share in the celebrations, ' said winning team member Neil Dixon. He added that this was the second time the region had won the award in the past three years.

Fellow team member Simon Carter also won the Scott Quaich for the best gross score.

ast Midlands chairman William Kemp and Thomas Telford managing director Hugh Ferguson presented John Parry, Simon Carter, Paul Fleming and Neil Dixon (pictured left to right) with the trophy.

Fortunately, the winner of the individual event was East Anglian Stewart Evans.

Next year's Thomas Telford Trophy will be hosted by the ICE Yorkshire Region.
