Honorary Fellowship

AN ICE Honorary Fellowship was awarded to Professor George Meyerhof who flew from Canada to receive the honour.

Meyerhof is research professor of civil engineering at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Meyerhof has carried out extensive research on soil mechanics and foundation problems and is the author of more than 200 papers.

He was the first president of the Canadian Geotechnical Society and last year was appointed a member of the Order of Canada for distinguished international service in geotechnical engineering.
