Hong Kong students set up shop

GRADUATES AND students in Hong Kong have formed their own division with the local association. Under the chairmanship of George Wall, a number of events are already being planned to help build an international network of contacts.

Groups will soon be visiting universities and metro projects in Shanghai, and a representative will attend the Graduates & Students National Committee meeting at the ICE in London in November.

Wall explained: 'Following the formation of a local association in November 1999, we now have a full committee of young engineers representing the interests of associate, graduate and student members in Hong Kong.'

The association is also contacting a number of other related institutions, with a view to organising local joint events.

The new division has four committee members: vice chairman Paul YH Lee, honorary secretary/ treasurer Tom Chu and liaison officers Eva Kong and Fiona Liu.
