Contractors have broken through on the 3.8km long Tai Lam tunnel in Hong Kong. The joint venture tunnelling contractor elected to use jet grouting to install a pipe roof above the tunnel, along with rock bolts and shotcreting to stabilise the tunnel in extensive sections of weathered granite.
