Highways Agency invite interest to widen M25

The Highways Agency has invited formal expressions of interest to widen the remaining three lane sections of the M25 motorway. The project is being offered as a single £4.5bn design, build, finance and operate contract with the successful bidder responsible for the phased widening of 100km of the M25 and the future operation and maintenance of the M25 over a 30 year period. Outline proposals will be requested in spring 2006 from which a shortlist of three will be drawn up. The aim is to achieve contract award by the end of 2007 and a start of works in early 2008.
