Highways Agency appoints interim major projects director

The Highways Agency has appointed Jerry England, former chief operating office at Thames Water, as its interim major projects director. He will take up the role on Monday.
During his eight years at Thames Water, England rose to assume responsibility for its £600M annual capital programme.Highways Agency CEO Archie Robertson said: 'This is a crucial appointment that will enable us to move forward as a leading construction client delivering a major roads programme set to exceed a billion pounds per year.'Jerry will provide direction for our own professional teams and the supply chain on which we rely for delivery of major construction projects, as we seek to fill the post permanently.'
