Hewden invests in new eco-accommodation

Hewden has invested over £1M on new eco accommodation units.

Commenting on the order, Hewden national operations manager – accommodation Steve McNulty said: “We’re currently experiencing customer demand driving high utilisation for our eco accommodation fleet, and this investment will ensure we’re equipped to meet that demand.

The firm made a similar investment in eco accommodation units in September 2012.

The units incorporate energy saving features like PIR-activated LED lighting, blown air thermostatically controlled heating, thermostatically controlled hot water and intelligent generator charging technology.

The order is part of Hewden’s investment programme for 2013, which has already included the purchase of excavators and dumpers, and brings the company’s spend on new products this year to over £3M.
