Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate

Her Majesty's Railway Inspectorate is this week considering enforcement action against Railtrack for its failure to introduce improved standards to protect trackside workers. It is meeting with unions and representatives of Railtrack to determine what action will be taken. The action follows Railtrack's second failure to introduce its standard RTDP050 which reduces workers' activity on the lines while trains are running (NCE last week).
