Heathrow Express set to impress

HEATHROW EXPRESS launched its first airport train service from Paddington Station on Monday - albeit only in its temporary, partially opened form.

And in just 11 minutes, the train, dubbed FastTrain, had whisked passengers to Airport Junction, a 10 minute bus ride away from the terminal area.

Heathrow Express managing director Rod Hoare expects to recoup the £1.9M investment in the FastTrain before the 1 June opening of the full £440M line.

Travel is free until 25 January if you have a valid airline ticket. Otherwise a one way trip is £5 until June.
