Health & safety - Confidential reporting

CROSS is seeking reports on aspects of a structure which could - Cause a collapse of the whole or a part - Trigger an incident that kills or injures - Require premature repair or retrofits CROSS is also interested in any safety related concerns involving the reporters, other people, their organisations and other organisations they deal with.

CROSS will not accept reports on - Occupational health or safety issues - Criminal ctivities - Concerns with no safety content - Personality onflicts - Industrial elations - Terms and conditions of employment Urgent safety concerns CROSS is not intended to be a first line of reporting. Engineers concerned about urgent safety risks are expected initially to take the issue up with their employer or client. If discussions fail to achieve a result, however, CROSS should be alerted. A report will be depersonalised and brought to the attention of the Standing Committee on Structural Safety as quickly as possible.
