Grontmij to work on Centre Point design

Grontmij has been appointed to carry out detailed design work for the development of the 32-storey Centre Point tower in central London.

Grontmij will be responsible for all of the engineering systems and sustainable design including minimising the use of energy, vertical transportation, fire strategy engineering, sustainability assessment Breeam and Eco Homes Assessments.

Work is already underway to prepare the listed building, which will be situated next to Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station when it opens in 2018.

Luxembourg-based investment company Almacantar bought Centre Point in March. Its strategy is to use its asset management and redevelopment skills to get more value out of under-used sites.
