Grontmij names former Highways Agency finance director Mel Zuydam as CFO

Grontmij has announced the appointment of former Highways Agency Mel Zuydam as its chief financial officer and member of the executive board.

Zuydam has more than 19 years of broad international management expertise and experience in various companies including Balfour Beatty and the Highways Agency. Currently he is CFO and commercial director of the nuclear services division of VT Group.

Zuydam a British/Dutch national, is a chartered accountant and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (FCA). From 2004 until the end of 2008 he was group finance director of the Highways Agency.

Grontmij CEO Sylvo Thijsen said: ‘We are very pleased that Mel Zuydam will join our company as CFO. His broad international financial experience, partly in businesses closely related to Grontmij activities, will contribute to the execution of our long term financial and strategic goals whereas his personality will be a very good fit with our company and Executive Board.”

Zuydam will be nominated for appointment at the AGM of shareholders of Grontmij N.V. on 14 May.
