Grontmij finance boss to leave as business copes with slim profit margins

Grontmij chief financial officer Mel Zuydam will leave the company, it was announced only a week after the company announced deteriorating markets and falling profits.

In a small statement, Grontmij said the company and Zuydam had “decided in close consultation to part their ways,” and that he will leave the company to continue a career outside Grontmij.

The statement added that the board would begin searching for a replacement as soon as possible.

The firm had previously announced slim margins on its profits with operating profit in the UK and central Europe region falling to just €600,000 (£515,000) in the nine months to 30 September 2011. Revenue was £92M, and its operating margin was just 0.6%.
