Greece frightening

I feel bound to make comment on the remark attributed to the TRL in the article Shouldering Responsibility (NCE 26 September) that 'UK drivers are the worst in Europe at compliance'. Whoever made that statement has clearly never travelled in Greece, Spain, Portugal or Italy.

I work in Greece and have daily experience of the Greek driver's (lack of) ability and desire to comply with even the simplest of traffic regulations.

Driving in UK, particularly on motorways, is bliss in comparison with here. I also know the M42 well and I am sure that the scheme described in the article will help with the peak hour congestion problems there.
