Government unveils £30bn construction pipeline

The Cabinet Office has today unveiled its future project pipeline with construction worth £30.3bn.

Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude has unveiled the pipeline as part of the government’s attempt to make the future of projects more transparent to help businesses forward.-

The total value of the government’s project pipeline stands at £84bn. It is split into a number of sectors including construction, professional services, worth £7.3bn, energy and utilities valued at £5.3bn and properties and facility management worth £4.5bn.

“These new pipelines will allow UK-based suppliers to plan ahead and win Government contracts – whether they are large-scale country-wide building projects or a contract to provide local authorities with sustainable office supplies,” said Maude.

“We have now published pipelines for up to £84 billion of future Government business, but there is still more to do. Future procurement plans need to be more comprehensive and cover more sectors because I want to encourage all businesses, including SMEs to look at these opportunities and plan for the future.”

Details of the project pipeline can be found here.
