Government to decide second River Tyne tunnel 'within a few weeks'


The government will decide whether to grant approval to build a second tunnel under the River Tyne 'within a few weeks', transport minister Stephen Ladyman told Parliament this week. He blamed the delay in reaching a decision on changes to the scheme made by the local passenger transport executive after the public inquiry into the project was heard.
