Government plans review of the Renewables Obligation

Government plans for the review of the Renewables Obligation (RO) were published last week. The RO began in April 2002 and was set up to force electricity suppliers to use renewable electricity generation.

The review proposes to examine the effectiveness of the RO since it began, its working arrangements and the future cost competitiveness of renewable technologies.
