Government announce £235M of funding

The government has announced £235M of funding for infrastructure schemes to support massive housebuilding plans. The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has made the money available for projects around Milton Keynes, Ashford and the London-StanstedCambridge-Peterborough corridor. Meanwhile, the Department for Transport has identified projects eligible for the £200M community infrastructure fund established last July. Projects selected for 'more detailed appraisal' include a new railway station at Aylesbury, a £30M upgrade at Milton Keynes Central station and £6M of work to the Corby northern orbital road.
