Gibb to supervise CERN extension

EUROPEAN PARTICLE physics laboratory CERN has awarded UK-based consultant Gibb the contract for construction site supervision of its Neutrino-Gran Sasso extension project.

The project includes 7km of tunnels and caverns connecting to parts of the CERN facility below the Swiss Alps, which will be used to investigate the existence and properties of the neutrino sub-atomic particle. Construction will begin shortly.

Gibb has been working on the project's concept design and tender design, as well as site supervision on the neighbouring package 2 of the CERN Large Hadron Collider project.
