Sir William Halcrow

Sir William Halcrow (1883-1958) was a founder of the firm that has evolved to become the Halcrow Group Ltd. Sir William Halcrow was a pioneer of the multi-disciplinary approach to consulting engineering services and was involved in some of the most prestigious projects undertaken in the first half of the 20th century. In 1944, in recognition of his remarkable talents, he was awarded a knighthood, and in 1946, he became president of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
