GI firms rebranded

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES Group has extended its Soil Mechanics brand to all its British ground investigation operations.

Since the group acquired Exploration Associates in 1997 and Scottish contractor Nicholson (Site Investigation) in 1998, the three companies have traded regionally under their own names.

The change will largely be implemented by the end of this year and will give Soil Mechanics 10 branches in the UK.

Group managing director John Swales said: 'Reorganisation, along with recruitment of new senior staff, will enable Soil Mechanics to deliver the full national resource of the company where our customers most want it, at the local level.' In the Republic of Ireland, the Environmental Services Group's operating division Geotech Specialists retains its name.
