NCE's Charity Golf Masters tees off in Leatherhead, Surrey, next month.Book your place now.

ENGINEERING GOLFERS will gather at Leatherhead Golf Club on 16 September for the fourth NCE Charity Golf Masters to raise money for disaster relief charity RedR.

Teams will face a late summer challenge around one of the best courses in Surrey. Leatherhead was founded in 1903 and has since hosted a range of Professional Golfers Association events in its mature parkland setting and promises to deliver a relaxed, enjoyable but competitive day.

Prizes, including a day out on a 'Zapcat' mini inflatable speed boat provided by security and logistics support specialist Wilson James, will be up for grabs on the day.

The event combines golf and a great networking day out with the chance to raise cash for RedR, the engineering charity that selects, trains and places engineers for disaster relief work.

RedR work is desperately needed all over the world to help local communities get back on their feet as fast as possible following earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and humanitarian calamities.

The 2004 NCE Golf Masters will build on the success of past years. Last year we raised over £10,000 for RedR bringing the total raised since the first event to over £25,000.

As in the past, the cost for a four-ball team is £1,000. The day will be a relaxed and fun affair.

It will start with breakfast before a round of golf in a stableford format, with the best two scores on each hole to count towards the overall team performance.

In addition to team and individual honour, prizes will also be up for grabs for the longest drive and nearest the pin competitions.

There will also be a new pitch and put competition outside the clubhouse. All competitors will receive shirts to mark the day plus balls - supplied as last year by piling specialist Rock & Alluvium - and other gifts.

The day will finish with a dinner and entertainment - provided this year by the construction industry's golfing guru Alan Crane, fresh from his annual adventures spotting for the BBC at the Open in Troon.

Teams confirmed so far include Balfour Beatty, Scott Wilson, MouchelParkman, ACO Technologies. Burgess Salmon, Burdens, Wilson James, Carl Bro, Capita Symonds, Buro Happold and NCE. Many more are expected, to make this event the biggest NCE Charity Masters ever and hopefully to raise more cash for RedR.

To make this year's event the biggest ever, more teams are urged to contact event organiser Chris Hoare on (01403) 753 869 to get their entry registered - as soon as possible to aid the event's organisation.
