Geotechnical merger

Scottish consultant Babtie has taken over Manchester-based consultant Allot & Lomax. Both firms have significant geotechnical capability.

Babtie Group is now the UK's ninth largest civil engineering consultant with around 3000 staff and a turnover expected to exceed £120M this year.

Allott & Lomax will retain its name but operate under the Babtie board. Babtie chairman Henry Perfect said Allott & Lomax filled a number of key gaps in its portfolio.
