A twisting, 560m tall, hour glass shaped steel tube structure is one of the shortlisted designs for a new sightseeing-cum-TV tower in Guangzhou, China. The structure's complex geometry, with an elliptical hyperbolic surface, has been dreamt up by Arup with Dutch architect Information, German firm Leon Wohlage Wernik and French practice Architecture Studio.

The planned TV tower is to be built in time for Guangzhou to host the 2010 Asian Games.
