FULL STEAM AHEAD: Railtrack this week unveiled plans for its stand at Civils 98.

Major features will include information and key people on hand to talk about the 1bn per year 10 year overhaul planned for the UKs railway infrastructure; the West Coast Main Line upgrading for high speed trains; innovative machines for use on track maintenance; models of major projects such as Thameslink and the Hungerford Bridge pedestrian crossing of the Thames.

Railtracks top management will be on hand. Engineering director Brian Mellit is expected to deliver a major seminar on 20 May: Engineering for performance in the railway industry.
