Fugro America launches a new geotechnical survey vessel

Fugro America has announced the launch of a new a 193ft (58.8m) offshore geotechnical and hydrographic survey vessel.

The vessel’s instrument processing rooms contain a dynamic positioning system and a HiPAP 500 acoustic positioning system. The boat also has stabiliser tanks and is equipped with two 20t A-frames that can handle a range of geotechnical equipment.

It will also be equipped with remotely operated underwater vehicles to support survey operations.

The vessel’s hull design has been optimised using computational fluid dynamics and model testing.
