Frankis delivers supermarket foundation solution

Construction of a new underground Lidl supermarket in Stockwell, South London close to two tube lines has called on Frankis Solutions to use an alternative to piled foundations.

With the Victoria line directly below and the Northern line running parallel to the site, developer Crest Nicholson called on contractor Frankis to use pad foundations for the Clapham Road store.

As well as constructing foundations for the new basement level store and above ground three storey apartment building, Frankis is also carrying out remediation of the former petrol station site and construction of the ground floor slab.

Work on the site is expected to be completed in November.
