An international line up of leading manufacturers and suppliers will be showcasing their latest equipment and technology at ADSC Expo 2001, being held in San Antonio, Texas, from 17-20 January. The organiser, the International Association of Foundation Dr

American Equipment/Soilmec The stands will show two new drill rigs from Italian manufacturer Soilmec - the T-108 truck mounted rig capable of drilling up to 1.8m diameter,24m deep holes and the R-516 crawler mounted rig for drilling holes up to 2m diameter, and 41m deep .

Stands 51,52,53,60,61 and 62

American Piledriving Equipment APE is introducing its largest vibro-driver, the Super Kong, which incorporates the firm's patented Quad-Clamp system and can drive up to 5m diameter caissons. APE will also show its new remote-control caisson clamp.

Stand 103

Applied Foundation Testing The foundation load testing firm will be displaying its range of testing techniques including Statnamic axial and lateral load testing of deep and shallow foundations, PDA, conventional load tests, sonic integrity tests and downhole shaft inspection equipment.

Baroid Drilling Fluids Baroid Drilling Fluids'range of drilling slurry additives can be seen on its stand. These include premium grade bentonites and liquid and dry polymers and other speciality products.

The firm also offers on-site consultation and technical assistance and arranges seminars and training.

Bauer The German foundation equipment manufacturer's stand will be displaying the BG 18H, the latest medium-sized drilling rig in its range, which includes all the familiar Bauer features including cable crowd.

Stands 83,84 and 85

Bay Shore Systems Bay Shore Systems' RK-12X, low headroom, limited access drilling rig range can drill down to between 9m and 18m in headrooms of just 2.5m and 3.7m respectively. The HoDril rotary drill is the latest from the LoDril range. The versatile unit can be attached to a small excavator and can drill down to 9m.

C&M Manufacturing C&M Manufacturing is introducing the D2K Rigid centraliser which it says reduces costs and offers precise configurations. Less expensive than PVC centralisers, it can be shipped unassembled. The firm is also displaying grout tubes, PVC centralisers and PE strand separators.

Stand 22a

Center Rock Center rock offers a complete line of air rock drilling tools, including rental hammers ranging from 76mm to 760mm and single piece bits up to 1.2m in diameter. Other services include hammer and bit re-construction, site supervision, air swivels, drillpipe, and flange adapters.

CETCO Drilling Products Environmentally safe bentonite mineral and polymer slurries are the claim of manufacturer CETCO which will be showing its range of products including Shore Pac GCV for wet hole slurry drilling. The firm also offers a complete line of slurry sampling and testing equipment, free slurry cost estimates and on-site slurry programme designs. On-site technical assistance is also available.

Stands 20 and 21

Champion Equipment Sales The firm will be displaying casing joints, a hydraulic casing rotator and a mechanical hammer grab from equipment manufacturer Hans Leffer. This equipment is designed to install and remove sectional casing and to excavate fully cased bored piles in severe ground conditions.

AB Chance Company AB Chance will be showing its high-capacity Helical Pulldown micropiles. The friction/end-bearing composite piles combine Portland-based grout columns around steel helical anchors and have been tested to 300kN in compression. The stand will also feature the HeliCAP engineering software that calculates steel helical pile tension and compression capacities from soil and load data.

CMV Italian manufacturer CMV will be displaying its range of drilling and piling equipment.

Con-Tech Systems The firm offers a full range of support systems. These include anchors, soil nails and micro piles, using strand, bar, hollow injection BOre IBO/Titan bar, composite fibre glass tendons, centralisers, stressing and grouting equipment, instrumentation and technical assistance.

Copeland International The firm specialises in the Allison CRT series transmission in earth augers, winching and material handling applications.

Copeland supplies parts and technical support and now offers a proven reliable power alternative.

The Crosby Group The Crosby Group manufactures blocks, fittings and accessories used with wire rope, chain and synthetic slings.

Products include hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, turnbuckles, crane blocks, snatch blocks, hoist rings (UNC and metric), and a wide array of swivels (Timken bearing and angular contact bearing).

Davey Kent/Jean Lutz The US manufacturer of geotechnical drilling equipment will show its latest DK725, and its most popular model, the DK525. The firm will also bring its new excavator attachment, the EX300, for low overhead drilled shafts, and the latest drilling instrumentation technology from European firm Jean Lutz.

Drilling Technique Drilling Technique stocks new units, parts and accessories for EG Technology, Interoc, TechnoDrill, DTL/Trive3 and Trivesoil drill rigs, Krupp and Interoc drill hammers, and HighShear grout mixing, pumping and bulk feed systems. The firm will be featuring the new DTL/Trive3 mini-caisson drill rig and the HighShear Models 500 bulk feed plant and P6 mixer/pump.

Driltech Mission Driltech Mission manufactures rock drilling tools for mining and civil engineering. Overburden equipment, Mission DTH hammers, raise boring equipment and carbide tip point attack tools will all be on show.

Dywidag-Systems International Dywidag-Systems International is a manufacturer and supplier of post-tension strand and bars for soil-nails, rock anchors, dam tie-downs, foundation uplift resistance. The firm also offers design assistance and engineers with extensive field experience.

EuroDrill German manufacturer EuroDrill offers a wide range of rotary and percussive drill heads. On display will be a coring hydraulic hammer, the new dricon concept and a new double rotary head system.

Foremost Industries Foremost's patented dual rotary drills are suitable for drilling piles, bridge rehabilitation, dam construction, dock shoring, de-watering and applications in unconsolidated overburden.

Stand 6

Foresight Products The firm will be showing its Manta Ray and Sting Ray drive type ground anchor systems. Anchors have capacities over 45,000t and are proof loaded during installation and applications include retaining walls, shoring, seawalls, pipelines and towers.

Stands 16 and 17

Foundation Technologies From Foundation Technologies comes the ShaftSpacer system, a guide and alignment system for positioning reinforcing steel cages within caissons and drilled shafts.

The company's Unispacer centraliser is for positioning single bar reinforcement in auger-cast piles, mini-piles, tiebacks and other geotechnical applications and the Yellow Jacket is a friction protection system for piling associated with MSE walls.

Stand 3

Geokon Geokon manufactures a range of geotechnical instrumentation for monitoring the safety and stability of a variety of civil and mining structures including dams, tunnels, foundations, mine openings and piles. Products includes vibrating wire piezometers, pressure cells, strain gauges, inclinometers and load cells.

GPE GPE's MiniSID and downhole camera systems will be on display at the show.The systems are used for visual and safe inspection of the bottoms and sidewalls of wet or dry drilled shafts.

Goble Rausche Likins & Associates Goble Rausche Likins & Associates uses the pile driving analyser from Pile Dynamics to perform dynamic load tests on drilled shafts to determine bearing capacity and integrity. Goble Rausche Likins also determines shaft integrity with the pile integrity tester or the cross hole analyzer, again from Pile Dynamics.

H&T Auger H&T Auger manufactures rock and dirt augers, core barrels, drilling and muck buckets, air barrels and flighting. The firm has a range of rotary drill bits, rock and dirt blades and pilot bits and also the produces the HT300 and HT635 hole digger.

Highway Manufacturing Highway Manufacturing will be displaying its mechanical and hydraulic drive pressure digger that can dig down to depths of 9m.

HPSI Hydraulic Power Systems/ Equipment Corporations of America/Hutte & Co will be displaying its line of top drive standard and varitorque augers and power units.

International Construction Equipment/Casagrande Among the equipment on show will be Casagrande's B140E, a large high torque hydraulic drilling rig. The M9 and the compact and versatile M6A small bore drilling rigs will also feature.

Stands 47,48,49,50,56,57,58 and 59

Ingersoll-Rand Ingersoll-Rand will be showing its range of down-the-hole hammers and bits, portable air compressors, light towers, generator sets and forklifts.

Stand 95a

Inter-Mountain Pipe Micro and pin piling manufacturer and supplier InterMountain Pipe/Threading will be displaying its range of products as well as line pipe and casing, both threaded and plain end. Custom manufacturing of threaded tubular products is a speciality.

Stand 25

Interoc Interoc, branch of Deilmann-Haniel Maschinen-und Stahlbau, manufactures hydraulic drill rigs, drifters, rotary heads and drilling accessories for ground stabilisation.

Hydraulic drifters and rotary heads are equipped with twospeed rotary motors and are designed for various torques and rotary speeds. The drifters are fitted with the wellproven rotary slide control which adapts to different soil and rock conditions. The firm also produces a range of anchor and mini drill rigs.

Ischebeck Titan Ischebeck Titan produces Titan micro piles, soil nails, rock bolts, seismic retrofit tiebacks and hollow and self drilling anchors. The firm is represented in North America by ConTech Systems.

Keystone Drill Service Keystone Drill Services will be exhibiting its rock drilling equipment at the show.

Klemm The Klemm KR 806-3, the firm's most popular small diameter drill will be on the stand, fitted with a single rod handler for soil nails.

Lang Tendons Lang Tendons Polystrand extrusion-coated strand ground anchors can be custombuilt to required capacity and installation procedure. The anchors are delivered to site ready for installation. The firm also offers technical assistance and anchor jacking equipment.

Stand 4 Liebherr

The German equipment manufacturer will be exhibiting a range of its crawler cranes, drilling and piling rigs.

Loadtest Loadtest produces deep foundation testing equipment and offers services for drilled shaft and driven pile foundations.

The firm specialises in Osterberg Cell technology with test load capacities from 100t to 9,000t (equivalent to 18,000t for conventional test loads).

MAIT Mait recently launched the Mini Drill range, designed specifically for limited access and working space.Two of the three models are mounted on mini-excavator and the third, Baby Drill, is remote-controlled and has a dismountable power pack.

Mississippi Valley Equipment The firm has been making vibratory hammers for 30 years.

As well as the established V-30, the firm will be showing its new V-35 hammer.

Numa Numa manufactures conventional and reverse circulation down-the-hole hammers and bits for drilling hole diameters from 89mm to 1092mm.The firm also produces eccentric overburden drilling systems and an environmentally-safe rock drill lubricant.

Olson Instruments The Freedom NDT PC family of instruments for nondestructive evaluation of drilled shafts will be demonstrated on Olson Instruments' stand. Systems include crosshole sonic logging, sonic echo/impulse response, parallel seismic, crosshole tomography and spectral analysis of surface waves.

Pagani Geotechnical Equipment Set up in 1978, Italian manufacturer Pagani Geotechnical Equipment produces insitu geotechnical testing equipment for CPT tests, as well as carrying out projects and testing. All the penetrometers are self-anchoring pluri-standard with the CPT, dynamic and rotary all in the same vertical alignment.

Pengo Corporation Drilling equipment manufacturer Pengo will be showing its hollow core continuous flight augers, hexagon core augers, cleaning buckets, drilling buckets, Betek wear parts and Kennametal.

Pileco/Delmag Pileco/Delmag will be presenting its range of European built drill rigs which it claims have a number of technical advances and designs.

Polymer Drilling Systems Bentonite and polymer slurry materials including Super Mud, Super Mud Dry and Quik Floc will be exhibited, along with slurry sampling and testing equipment. The firm also offers free slurry cost estimates, free site specific slurry program design and on-site technical assistance.

Postle Industries Postle Industries manufactures a range of welding alloys for hardfacing and overlay, repair welding, and specialised fabrication. The range includes flux-coated electrodes, fluxcored wires, and thermal spray powders. Applications include hardfacing of augers, tool tip holders and drill buckets.

Pullmaster Winch Corporation Pullmaster Winch Corporation manufactures a range of planetary winch products. The firm has equal speed or rapid reverse models with free fall options on some models. All include both static and dynamic integral brake. Options such as hydraulic motors and cable drums are also available.

Piling & Vibro-Equipment PVE is a European manufacturer of hydraulic vibratory hammers. On display will be the PVE 52m vibro hammer with eccentric moment, PVE 800 power pack, Pilemer hydraulic impact hammer and Pilemer 115 power pack.

Rankin Industries The latest methods and procedures for prolonging the service life and efficiency of ground engaging tools are promised by Rankin Industries, a provider of quality hardfacing products. Qualified personnel will be on hand to establish on-site training programmes for ADSC members.

Rev Drill Rev Drill will be demonstrating its new Rev 2000 rig range at the show, so called because they are 'revolutionary, economical and versatile' Stands 43a and 43b Schramm Schramm manufactures an extensive line of top-head drive Rotadrills to meet the needs of drilling contractors worldwide.

Sinclair Services Sinclair Services is a supplier of slurry products and engineering. The firm has over 40 years' experience in fluid engineering and represents products from Cetco, Wyo-Bon and Federal Summit as well as ShaftSpacers and PDS's Super Mud.It also sells and rents slurry mixing and cleaning equipment.

Skyline Steel/Frichtl Steel & Welding Skyline Steel manufactures large diameter spiralweld steel pipe up to 3.6m diameter and 19mm thick and up to 30.5m long. Frichtl Steel makes rolled and welded steel pipe up to 4.5m diameter and 32mm thick for casings, core barrels and for structural and ASTM A-252 specifications.

Spiradrill Among Spiradrill's exhibits will be its XHD-60 auger drill mounted on a all-wheel drive carrier and a MD-80 auger drill mounted on a conventional truck.

Star Iron Works Star Iron Works manufactures mini/micro pile casing ends, tremie pipe ends, drill rods, multi-use casing ends, lift bails, cutting shoes and other related products.

Summit Global Insurance Insurance and bonds available from the company will be explained to visitors to the stand.

Svedala Drilling Svedala Drilling will be displaying the Texoma 900T crawler mounted drill, along with a complete line of its auger tooling products.

Stands 108,109 and 110

TEI Rock Drills TEI Rock Drills manufactures drilling attachments for the construction and mining industries. The firm's drills can be attached to skid steer loaders, backhoe loaders and excavators and can be used on limited access sites and for drilling that requires greater reach. Applications for TEI drills include soil nails, mini-piles, injection anchors, blast holes and geothermal drilling.

Stand 93

Terra Equipment Sales Company Terra Equipment will have its newest track-mounted TD540T on its stand. The unit uses a CAT315 undercarriage, has a reach of 2m off the side and can clear a 1.52m auger around the track corner. Also on show will be the TD540G, a highway legal truck drill rig that typically does not require permits for road travel.

Stand 41 and 42

Tes Car di Tonti Elio Italian company Tes Car specialises in hydraulic drilling kits mounted on mini excavators, although it also manufactures interlocking and frictional kelly bars and drilling tools. The company stocks a wide range of used drilling equipment.

Stand 15a

Tri-Flo International The firm will be displaying its range of solids control systems and its micro tunnelling and directional drilling fluids control and separation systems.

Stands 99 and 100

Versa-Matic Pump Company Versa-Matic's stand will highlight its innovative ElimaMatic air valve system. Its anti-stalling, non-icing, lubrication-free operation virtually eliminates intermittent pump stalling caused by air valve system freeze-ups. Also featured will be the company's complete line of airoperated, double diaphragm pumps and replacement parts.

Stand 9

Watson Watson will be showing the 1100TM rig mounted on a 6X4 truck and a 3100TM mounted on a 10X6 Tor Truck. A new generation Model EDT.7 Super ExcaDrill mounted on a Cat 345 BL will also be on the stand.

Stands 63,64,72 and 73

WFJ WFJ is a distributor for Italian manufacturer CMV and also manufactures foundation drilling equipment including augers, air core barrels, carbide core barrels, air swivels, drilling buckets and custom tooling. It stocks parts for Texoma drills and is distributor for Kennametal, Pengo and Jiffy products. The firm offers consulting and appraisal services.

Stands 68,69,76,77 and 78

Williams Form Engineering Williams' rock and soil anchors consist of all-thread bars manufactured with a 360degrees concentric thread allowing for torque tensioning and said to provide better bond performance than conventional rebar. The firm's most popular all-thread bars use 75 KSI or 150 KSI grades of steel with ultimate strengths as high as 352,900kg.Stainless steel anchors and nails are also available.

Stand 10

Wirth Maschinen Wirth will be exhibiting its range of drilling equipment including the self-erecting high-torque Ecodrill, airlift drillstring and accessories for hard rock penetration/rock socketing. The fully hydraulic crawler-mounted high torque drill rig is suitable for kellybar, CFA or RCD work with maximum drilling depth of 61m with kellybar and 80m with RCD drillstring.
