Form matters - rerun the ballot

I support fully the views expressed by Roger Sainsbury in his letter.

Whatever one's feelings on the changes in question, the presentation was unworthy of a professional institution of long standing. As a learned society we should set an example and not ape, even inadvertently, the modern political approach of hidden agenda.

Although I am aware that there will be a cost involved, the result of the ballot should be set aside and a fresh one called with the possible implications set out clearly.
