Foreign experts called to check Bangkok's track subway system

Foreign experts could be called in to check the safety of Bangkok's new single track subway system, which suffered its first accident on Monday. At least 100 passengers were hurt, some seriously, when an empty train emerged from a repair depot and collided with a crowded train carrying around 700 passengers.

Early reports suggest the automatic braking system on the empty train either failed or was deliberately disabled by maintenance staff.
