Focus on Lochboisdale Causeway construction secures competition win

Fairhurst graduate engineering geologist Siobhan Warden beat off stiff competition to win a geotechnical poster competition with her focus on the Lochboisdale Causeway and redevelopment project.

Warden’s presentation secured her the top prize at the Glasgow event jointly hosted by the ICE Scottish Geotechnical Group and the Central Scotland Regional Group of the Geological Society.

Topics presented by the other 10 entrants included pile driveability back analysis and the Borders Railway earthworks design. The judges commended the technical quality of all the entries.

Warden was presented with an engraved trophy and a copy of Offshore Geotechnical Engineering by SGG chairman Ian Lockie.
