FLIGHTS OF FANCY: Luton Airport's new passenger terminal is scheduled to be handed over at the end of May ready to take passengers by the end of June in time for the holiday season. The terminal building, designed by Foster & Partners, forms part of the £100M first phase of the airport's development plan. Whitby Bird & Partners is structural consultant for the steelwork, Ove Arup for mechanical and electrical services and Gibb for the civil works. Bechtel is project manager and is also part of the concession team operating the airport.
