Fleming finalists

NEWS

THE FINAL of the 2005 Fleming Award on 7 December 2005 at ICE, London, will be contested by three projects:

Castlehaven - coast protection and slope stabilisation scheme, an innovative geotechnical solution, Niton, Isle of Wight (High-Point Rendel, Van Oord UK and TPGEO/Group Ress)

The UK's largest soil mixed reactive barrier, Sixfields, Northampton (Northampton Borough CouncilEnglish Partnerships joint initiative, Halcrow Group, Mowlem Remediation, Mowlem Piling and Foundations and Envirotreat Technologies)

Ground improvement solutions for the M60 orbital motorway widening scheme, South Manchester (Highways Agency, AMEC-Alfred McAlpine joint venture, Halcrow and Pennine Vibropiling) Each team will give a brief presentation on its project before the winner is announced. Tim Chapman from Arup Geotechnics will give a keynote lecture while the judges deliberate. The BGA award is sponsored by Cementation Foundations Skanska.
