Fix nix

Could engineers everywhere please correct the public impression that clients who demand 'xed price' contracts get a good deal.

In the case of the new Wembley stadium, WNSL may not have done too badly.

However, the whole industry, and the public will pay for the overruns and losses that Multiplex and other contractors made, not to mention the legal fees and the poor impression given of our industry's project management skills.

The misconception that any contract can be xed price will make the job of selling NECtype contracts more difcult.

The only people who benet from xed price contracts are the lawyers.
