First Volvos for McGovern Plant Hire

Middlesex-based H McGovern & Son Plant Hire has broken with tradition and purchased its first two pieces of Volvo construction equipment – two A25F articulated haulers – for a prestigious muck shifting contract.

The firm took the decision to buy its first Volvo kit in response to a requirement for articulated haulers with Stage IIIB emission requirements.

The new A25F hauler meets emissions requirement by being powered by an electronically controlled, six cylinder 235hp turbo charged Volvo V-ACT diesel engine, and is up to 4% more fuel efficient than the previous model.

McGovern managing director John McGovern said:  “We were keen to acquire trucks that had a good reputation and pedigree in the market that came with a good reliable level of after- market support. So far we’ve been satisfied with our investment.”
