Experience is hard to find, but keep on trying

Letters

There has been recent correspondence from graduates and students who have had great difficulty obtaining vacation work within the industry. During my degree course I had four six-month periods of employment with local authorities and consultants and had to write between 50 and 100 speculative letters each year.

Nearly all of these letters, of course, resulted in rejection, but each year I found employment. To those who have given up after receiving a dozen or so rejection, I say keep trying!
