Euro cash for Athens airport link

A financing agreement has been signed between the Greek government and the European Investment Bank for up to Dr220bn funding for development of the new Athens peripheral motorway. The road is essential for providing access to the new international airport. The motorway, expected to be complete by 2003, is one of the biggest transport infrastructure projects ever built in Greece and is a key project in the priority list of the Trans European Network schemes.
