Entries to historic excellence awards sought

Entries for this year's Historic Bridge & Infrastructure Awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation in the conservation of structures more than 30 years old, are now being accepted.

The competition has been extended to include structures in Scotland as well as England and Wales. Entry forms are available from David Greenfield on 01823 277155 or Val Lawless at the ICE Library on 020 7665 2259. Closing date is 13 June 2008.

Last year, Newcastle's High Level Bridge was one of four winners for cast iron fatigue testing carried out by Network Rail, Mott MacDonald and Mat Gurney.
