Engineers value their eyes at £3.4M

Engineers value their eyes at £3.4M, making them the most expensive body parts in the UK, according to a poll for an insurance firm.

The sum is the equivalent of 40 years’ earnings on an annual salary of £85,000.

Market research firm OnePoll asked 2,000 UK workers across 20 industries what value they would put on different body parts in terms of earnings potential.

Of all the body parts, eyes were the most valued by Britain’s workers, followed by face, hands then legs.

Engineers came out top by putting the highest value on a body part.

For eyes, they were followed by plumbers and electricians at £3.1M and telecoms workers at £2.6M.

The poll was carried out for insurance company There.
